Innovation Fund

The 2024 Innovation Fund supported emerging and early-stage project ideas generated within the California Housing Systems Innovators Network. This initiative was designed to accelerate promising efforts that align with the Network’s values and vision.

The purposes of the Fund was to:

Transformational Impact: Supported work that showcased the Network’s three impact themes and helped move ideas along its theory of change. The Fund provided resources and capacity to unique projects that were supported, sourced, and funded by the Network—projects that likely would not have happened without this targeted support.
Collaboration: Strengthened and expanded the Network’s collaborative relationships by funding efforts that brought together diverse partners and perspectives.
Regeneration and Equity: Invested in long-term capacity within communities to approach housing differently. Projects used a holistic approach to create living environments that contribute to the well-being of residents, the surrounding ecosystem, and future generations—particularly those from historically and presently disadvantaged communities.
