Launched in 2008 in the San Francisco Bay area, GreenPoint Rated (GPR) quickly expanded throughout California, to become one of the country’s most established and credible residential green building rating systems.

GreenPoint Rated is one of the most comprehensive verification platforms, including every type of residential building, with four tiers of certification, from the minimum performance level,‘Rated’ to the highest performance level, ‘Platinum’. GPR community supported the initial development of CALGreen, the country’s most advanced residential green building code. GPR and our Raters have certified more residential units than any other rating provider in the state of California — over 100,000 homes — establishing a well-earned reputation for impact.

GreenPoint Rated measures are practical, market-based solutions backed by sound building science, have been tried and tested in the field, and are recognized by third party sources, including the Fannie Mae Green Certification program, California Air Resources Board, the California Energy Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments.

Meet the GPR Staff

Alicia Livitt

GPR Program Manager

A building geek from a young age (she was thrilled to receive a T-square as a gift at age nine), Alicia has always nurtured a curiosity about the built environment and the places we call home. Once she discovered there were different approaches to building, and that we can create spaces that can prioritize human health and happiness while minimizing impact on the natural world, she set out on her path as a sustainable building specialist.

Alicia started out in architecture school and found her niche with sustainable building, graduating from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Design: Housing and Urban Development. After working for a commercial real estate developer for a number of years, she moved to Sweden to seek a new perspective, and graduated with a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership Toward Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, menagerie of furry, shelled and scaled family members, biking the trails near her rural Colorado home, and seeks any opportunity to work with her hands in the garden, art projects, or remodeling ventures.
