Mix & Match: Building Housing Solutions, One Card at a Time

October 11, 2024 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Are you curious about how housing choices are made and how communities can have a say in the process? Join us for an engaging 60-minute interactive session that delves into the complexities of place-based housing development in an approachable way. This event is designed to bring community-centered decision-making to life through an innovative game — the Mix & Match Housing Toolkit.

Mix & Match is more than just a game; it’s a practical approach that allows participants to understand and navigate the elements shaping their communities. In this session, we’ll explore the history of housing choices and the various factors that influence community development and planning. Whether you’re a community member, government official, industry leader, or simply interested in the topic, this session offers an engaging way to explore how to build the best housing solutions for your community.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Led by our speakers and project leads of Mix & Match, Ben Hoffman (Junior Designer, LMNOP Designs, Inc) and Janette Kim (Principal, All of the Above) will guide you through a detailed walkthrough of the Mix & Match housing toolkit. They will offer insights into how the game can be used to explore housing solutions. The audience will get to actively engage with elements of the game and contribute in real-time.

For the best experience, we highly recommend joining the session on a device with video capabilities, as this will allow you to fully participate in the interactive elements of the session.
