California Multifamily Existing Building Training

In California, approximately one-third of households reside in multifamily buildings. Nationwide, more than 70 percent of multifamily housing units were built before building energy efficiency codes were established. Because of the large populations living in these older multifamily buildings, the potential for energy savings is enormous. Dozens of entities across the state are implementing residential retrofit programs. Read the full course description.

Participants will learn how to work with Multifamily clients to provide an audit and verify multifamily buildings for energy and green upgrades to address energy, water, and resource conservation, indoor air quality, and basic health and safety issues.

This training content includes:

Multifamily central systems overview based on BPI Multifamily Building Analyst
Supplemental HERS II content specific to multifamily content
Energy Audit protocols and a Green Property Needs Assessment
GreenPoint Rated Existing Home Multifamily program and Verification protocols
Tools to complete a rating
Written certification exam
Half-day field tutorial (Saturday December 4 8:30am - 12:00pm; Location to be provided at the training)

Eligibility:

GreenPoint Rated Existing Home Multifamily Rater or Advisor Certification can be achieved by meeting the certification eligible requirements and passing the exam.

Review the course prerequisites and Certification eligibility requirements.

All participants will be required to complete an eligibility application before completing the training. DOWNLOAD and submit your application.

Delivery Partners:

Training is delivered by Build It Green, CALCerts and Association for Energy Affordability; Funded by StopWaste.Org, Energy Foundation, Energy Upgrade California and Sacramento Municipal Utility District; and Developed in partnership with Heschong Mahone Group.

Fees:

Regular pricing for this training is $1745/$1795. This training is currently being offered at a reduced fee through a subsidy being provided through the Delivery Partners.

Bring to training:

Writing instruments, highlighter.
A refillable water bottle or drink container, to limit disposable water bottle use.
BUSINESS CARDS, about 100, in order to network with other attendees.

Refreshments

Beverages will be available throughout the day. An afternoon snack will be provided. Attendees will be responsible for their own breakfast and lunch.

Parking is available on-site. Lakeside Park also offers a variety of parking along Bellevue Avenue.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Registrants will be charged a $100.00 late transfer fee if rescheduling to another training less than three days before the course start date.
Registrants will receive a100% refund if cancellation is requested no less than two weeks before the course start date.
Registrants will be charged a $200.00 cancellation fee if cancellation is requested less than two weeks before the training.
No refunds for cancellations received within 3 business days of the course start date.
No refunds for no call/no show.
