The Advanced Training expands on the introductory Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP) training and is open to all California building professionals involved in the design and construction of residential buildings, as well as to professionals that support and develop the market for green building. This day-long class provides 8 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) towards CGBP recertification.

Course description

Training participants attend a one-day, 8-hour course based on practical application of a variety of green building practices. Expert instructors and guest speakers provide in-depth presentations on green building and business topics. Typical course content is outlined below:

Instructors

Leading the class is Marc Richmond President of Practica Consulting. Marc is a nationally recognized green building educator with more than 15 years experience in the construction industry green building field. He spent seven years as part of the Austin Energy Green Building Program, where he helped design and manage one of the first rating programs in the country. Marc has worked extensively in Texas, California, Colorado and Pennsylvania as green building consultant, construction supervisor, and energy services company project manager. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Moravian College in Pennsylvania, and his Master of Business Administration and his Master of Energy & Environmental Policy from Claremont Graduate School in Los Angeles.

Guest speakers add to the class by giving in-depth presentations in their areas of expertise and presenting case studies that show successful implementation of green building methods.
