Public Comment for Guidelines

Process for Public Comment and Suggesting Revisions for Green Building Guidelines

Build It Green's Green Building Guidelines for New Home Construction, Home Remodeling and Multifamily are reviewed and revised every three years.  Public input is welcome and encouraged during this process.  The Green Building Guidelines Public Comment Protocol  describes the format and procedures for comment submittal and response to comments. As outlined in the protocol, Build It Green offers two opportunities for public comment on the guidelines:

1. Open comment on the current guidelines versions
2. Comment Period of Final Draft Triennial Guidelines 

To submit your comments, first, review the protocol and then fill in the Guidelines Comment Form: Request for Modification to Build It Green Guidelines (.doc).  Submit the form to guidelines@builditgreen.org

Open Comment

Building Guidelines and GreenPoint Rated Existing Home Checklist 2008 Multifamily Guidelines 

The 45 Day comment period of final draft triennial guidelines and checklist has closed. A summery of public comments and response is posted below.

Build It Green would like to thank all who participanted in the update process. Build It Green has reviewed all comments and has posted the comments and responses. If you would like additional information on the comments or responses, please contact guidelines@builditgreen.org.

The Summary of the Update Process and Summary of Participation is available for your review. Additionally, we invite you to review the Summary of Changes and Case Studies. This document includes the review of changes to the Guidelines and the Checklist as well as the case studies used to evaluate recommended changes to the checklist.
