Build It Green offers annual membership for businesses, organizations and professionals who are stakeholders in the green building industry.  Your membership helps support Build It Green's programs and initiatives to promote healthy, energy- and resource-efficient buildings in California.

Membership Requirements

Requirements for professional membership vary depending on organization type.  All applications are subject to review and approval by the Membership staff.

All Membership Applicants

• Organization’s green building services, products, or programs are available in California
• Organization completes the Commitment to Green statement in the Membership Application

Builders/Architects/Trades/Independent Contractors/Other Services

• Demonstrate green building commitment or experience

Manufacturers & Product Suppliers

• Manufacture or sell products that qualify for green building measures in Build It Green’s GreenPoint Rated system

Public Agencies/Utilities/Non-profits/Media/Trade Associations

• Organization has green building programs or activities

Annual Membership Dues

Build It Green membership dues are calculated on a sliding scale based on the member's gross annual California revenue. Your membership dues support Build It Green's programs and initiatives to promote healthy, energy- and resource-efficient buildings in California.

Public agencies, utilities, nonprofits & other organizations:

• $200

Architects, contractors, builders, real estate & other services:

• $200 for revenues less than $500,000
• $400 for revenues $500,000 to $2 million
• $700 for revenues $2 million to $6 million
• $1,000 for revenues $6 million to $10 million
• $1,600 for revenues greater than $10 million

Product suppliers:

• $200 for revenues less than $500,000
• $400 for revenues $500,000 to $2 million
• .02% of revenues greater than $2 million ($2,500 maximum)

Individual Membership

Individual membership is available to homeowners, homebuyers and students who wish to demonstrate their support for Build It Green. Annual dues for individual membership are $200.  For individual members the benefits listed above do not apply.
