This brownbag focused on the resources provided in the recent
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Federal Stimulus Package).
Presentations will cover how the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) and Department of Energy (DOE) funding through the
stimulus package will be geared toward green retrofit dollars for the
existing affordable multifamily housing stock. Matt Schwartz
from the California Housing Partnership Corporation was on
hand to talk about how to leverage the stimulus and other available
public dollars to bring green upgrades to existing properties. Lastly,
we heard about incentives from the California Solar Initiative
Multifamily Affordable Solar Program (MASH).
The March brownbag meeting also included an extended
announcements period where resources regarding PG&E's Energy
Efficiency Rebates for new and existing multifamily properties were presented by representatives from PG&E and Heschong Mahone Group.
