Energy Upgrade California is a statewide program that helps homeowners make upgrades to their home in order to reduce energy use, conserve resources, and create more comfortable and efficient homes. Homeowners learn about the upgrade process, find a contractor to do the work, and receive rebates and incentives to pay for it.
The Green Upgrade Enhanced Option
Homeowners select a Basic or Advanced Package for energy upgrades, and then may add the Green Upgrade to get additional rebates. The Green Upgrade includes measures that enhance the occupant’s health and comfort while reducing the home’s environmental impact. These measures support better indoor air quality, waste reduction, and energy, water, and resource conservation.
The Green Upgrade also helps a home qualify for a green label* which gives homeowners the assurance of a quality green remodel and can improve a home's property values.
Homeowners: Take Advantage of Rebates
These rebates are available to anyone getting a GreenPoint Rated label for a single family residence. You do not need to participate in Energy Upgrade California's other rebate programs to receive this rebate.

*Currently GreenPoint Rated is the only green label available for all existing home remodels. Other nationally recognized home upgrade labels include LEED for Homes, which is a comprehensive green label for new and gutted homes, and the HERS II rating for energy efficiency, which benchmarks a home’s energy performance compared to current California energy code. The HERS rating is also part of the GreenPoint Rated label.
