Our design practice employs a natural systems approach to optimize efficiency and better integrate with the environment. Crane Landscape Design encompasses principles of water efficiency, wild life encouragement, water and air quality, energy efficiency, and resource conservation, all the while strengthening your connection to the earth through beautiful landscapes. Through this blend of techniques we incorporate the strategies of Greenpoint, Bay Friendly, Leaders in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and Sustainable Sites Initiative (SSI) rating systems.

We feel there are certain things a landscape environment should provide. We include visual, fragrant, and audible features in areas of the landscape to serve as mental restoration to release stress and help you refocus. We recommend using local materials that are lasting and installed with appropriate technologies to create a timeless space. We incorporate drought tolerant and California native plant material because they thrive with the least care. We encourage the maintenance of the landscape environment to be cared for in a non-toxic manner with minimum inputs and outputs.
