Description: Mark Byington of Cobalt Power Systems will present an overview of solar electric systems, also called PV (photovoltaic) systems, including roof mount, ground mount, and battery backup types. He will review how it works, what happens when your utility meter spins backwards, current government incentives, how much it costs, what financing options are out there, and some examples of the compelling financial return of these systems.

Mark Byington is president of Cobalt Power Systems, Inc, www.cobaltpower.com, a leading PV system installer located in Mountain View, CA. Cobalt has installed over 650 residential and commercial PV systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area since 2003. They provide turnkey sales, design, permits, installation, rebate processing, and utility interconnection processing for all types of PV systems, including grid tie, roof mount, ground mount, and battery backup systems.

Previous to his career in solar power, Mark spent 25 years in the telecommunications industry as a design engineer, VP of engineering, VP of marketing, and COO at several startup companies in Silicon Valley. Mark holds a BSEE degree from Stanford. During the presentation Mark will focus on residential PV systems, covering trends in the industry, products, typical layouts, cost, return on investment, government incentives, and environmental benefits.
