Event Description

Certified Green Building Professional Training and Exam:

Monday, March 8: 8:00 – 5:00pm

Tuesday, March 9: 8:00 – 5:00pm 1-hour exam at 4:00pm

CGBP Certification & Attendance Information:

Attendance at each day of the training and a passing grade on the final exam are mandatory to earn a Certified Green Building Professional certificate. Participants who miss a session must attend a make-up session at a future CGBP training (within 12 months) before they can take the final exam and become certified. Build It Green is not responsible for following up with anyone who has missed a training session. It is the responsibility of the participant to contact Build It Green to reschedule a makeup session.

A final exam on all four modules will occur on the last day of the training. The 1-hour CGBP exam is included in the fee of the course and is given on the second day at 4:00 p.m. Successful completion of the CGBP training and exam will qualify the student as a CGBP and will be valid for two years.

If an attendee does not receive a passing grade (80%) on the final exam, they have the option to re-take the exam at the end of a future CGBP training session for a fee of $50.00.

Bring to training:

Writing instruments, highlighter.
A refillable water bottle or drink container, to limit disposable water bottle use.
BUSINESS CARDS, about 100, in order to network with other attendees.

Refreshments:
SMUD will provide continental breakfast, lunch, snack, and beverages throughout the day. You will be asked for your meal preference upon registration.

Registration:
Please plan to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early so that we can begin the course promptly

Ample parking is available in the lots on-site at SMUD Energy & Technology Center.

Build It Green is now proud to offer Early Bird Discount (EBD) registration to our professional training events in 2010! Members will receive $100 off / Non-Members receive $50 off when registering for an event up to 30-days ahead of the training start date. The reduction in fee is automatically deducted upon registration (members, log in).

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Registrants may use 100% of paid fees if rescheduling to another training no less than eight days before the training.
Registrants may received 100% refund if cancellation is requested no less than eight days before the training.
Registrants may receive a 50% refund if cancellation is requested less than eight days before the training.
Registrants will be charged $100.00 late registration fee if rescheduling less than eight days before the training.
Registrants will be charged a $200.00 no call/no show fee.

Speaker Tim Butts

Position: Build It Green Trainer

Biography

Tim Butts is currently with Twin Rivers USD and has taken a position as their Adult Education Green Building Contractor Instructor. He is acquiring foreclosed homes through the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and is conducting a six month “deep energy green retrofit” training program for dislocated workers.

Tim is a third-generation Sacramento building contractor with over 35 years of experience. Mr. Butts is the only custom builder who has earned the “Energy Efficient” award from the California organization Flex Your Power.
