Last year, the Building Standards Commission approved the landmark California Green Building Code, known as CALGreen, for all new buildings in the state. This new Code officially went into effect on January 1, 2011.
This meeting will address upcoming changes to the Code, provide a guide to the Code’s voluntary Tiers, and examine the role of special inspectors for verification procedures. Build It Green will present its newly revised Roadmap for Local Governments, a guide for the development and implementation of green building ordinances.
Roundtable Discussion
In the afternoon, we’ll ask you to share your experiences implementing CALGreen so far. Come prepared to ask questions, raise issues, and share what has worked for your jurisdiction. Potential topics include inspection fees, filing findings, educating your staff, and what happens when the building industry picks up again.
