Event Description

Topic:  Energy Auditing/Rating and HERS Phase II Revealed

Description:  This presentation will cover the HERS Phase II regulations, who the players are (Inspector, Analysis, Verifier, Whole House Rater, Home Performance Contractor) and what their roles are. We will review and differentiate between an Audit, a Rating and Diagnostic Testing as well as what a Rating includes
(visual inspection & identification of assemblies & equipment, diagnostic testing, and
computer analysis).

We will also discuss California’s Net Zero Energy goal and the HERS Index (100 code minimum, 0 “net zero energy”) and how HERS Phase II will fit into Utility Rebate Programs, Tax Credits, Energy Efficient Mortgages, property tax financing, Deep Energy Retrofits & GreenPoint Rating.  Attendees will learn the importance of using an independent 3rd Party HERS Rater to identify opportunities for their clients on projects, and to verify the quality of installations and for code compliance as well as the importance of a minimum of 1 year of actual
utility bills.
