Learn how Electric Vehicles (EV’s) and solar power save money and the environment with Nissan and Allterra Solar, two innovative companies on the cutting edge of renewable energy technology for consumer/commercial transportation and homes. Presenters will discuss the financial, environmental, aesthetic, and social benefits of transitioning to EVs and solar power, providing you with ideas, selling points, technical information and financial programs/incentives to help you and/or your clients make informed decisions.

Topics covered include:

  • Solar and EV station installation and technical requirements for the home
  • Rebates, Tax Incentives, and special utility rates for EV owners  
  • Why it makes sense to have solar when owning an EV
  • Commercial opportunities and uses for EV’s
  • Permitting for EV’s in South Bay Jurisdictions
  • How Nissan is working to further EV technology
  • A walkthrough of the Nissan LEAF Electric Car’s features
  • How the Nissan dealership changed to accommodate LEAF infrastructure requirements
  • The kWh needed to charge various EV models and money saved on fuel
At the end of the presentation we will have the opportunity to test drive the Nissan LEAF!

Cancellation Policy:  No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows due to our limited venue capacity. Registered attendees can transfer their credit to another colleague (i.e. go in their place) for the same Workshop - not for another Workshop.

Speaker Information:

George Dieck

George Dieck graduated with a degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University, and went on to work for AGFA Corp., Adolph Gasser Photography, and his own private IT consulting firm before beginning his work with Stevens Creek Nissan. At Nissan he has moved from Sales to Director of Internet Sales. In his free time, George likes boating, water skiing, and coaching youth baseball.

Jeannie Lam

Jeannie Lam has been with Nissan since 2002 and has held various roles in Market Intelligence, Corporate Planning, Nissan Technical Center, Brand Management, and Chief Marketing Management. Jeannie's most recent roles involved being Chief Marketing Manager for the Nissan LEAF in Canada and currently EV Business Development Manager for the Bay Area, Seattle, and Portland Markets.

David Stearns

David Stearns is a lifelong Bay Area resident committed to the region's environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability. He lives in Santa Cruz and holds degrees in Political Science and Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. David currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Allterra Solar, a solar PV contractor emphasizing the importance of local sourcing.
