Topic: Water Conservation

Description: Hyphae Design Laboratory; an ecological engineering, research and design ﬁrm will discuss a variety of their previous work. Highlighted current projects will include:

A 5000-acre organic sugarcane farm and closed loop rum distillery in Belize featuring gasifiers, anaerobic digestion, nutrient recycling and rural power generation.
A Prop 84 State-funded Green Infrastructure Masterplan for the Port of Oakland.
And a large scale wastewater irrigated living wall for the SF MOMA announced recently:

Speaker Information:

Brent Bucknum works in the former wetlands of West Oakland, California. He founded the Hyphae Design Laboratory; an ecological engineering, research and design ﬁrm, in 2008. Mr. Bucknum is trained in restoration ecology and environmental policy. He is known for innovative ecological engineering and green infrastructure. His work includes the design of institutional, municipal, commercial, and residential-scale green infrastructure projects, ranging from rainwater and wastewater treatment systems, to urban parks, industrial ecology, brownﬁeld remediation, green streets, low impact living walls, and green roofs.
