Topic: The 2013 Title 24 Energy Code

Description: Significant changes are expected for the 2013 version of California's Title 24 residential Energy Code. Overall efficiency levels are expected to rise significantly. Required construction practices will get tougher. Third-party verifications will be more complex. Get an overview of the currently-proposed changes, and learn how they will impact builders, HERS raters, energy consultants, and the construction trades.

Speaker Information:

Steve Mann, owner of Home Energy Services, is headquartered in Berkeley, CA. He has been involved in the construction business for more than 20 years. His specialty as a builder is extremely energy-efficient residential gut renovations and small additions. His focus is aimed at assisting architects, contractors, developers, real estate professionals, and homeowners with sustainable design and construction practices and improving the energy efficiency of existing homes.

Steve's credentials include LEED AP+ Homes, Green Building Professional, Certified Energy Analyst, LEED for Homes Rater, Green Point Rater, HERS Rater, a BPI-certified Building Analyst, and Energy Star 3.0 Rater.

Steve has participated in multiple subject matter expert groups for GBCI, the LEED credentialing authority. He is also a Home Energy magazine contributing editor, former Treasurer and Board member of Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County, and a Board Chair of the California Association of Building Energy Consultants.
