Topic: Managing a Small Business During Challenging Times

Description: 
During these challenging economic times we are all searching for strategies to keep our businesses going.  Do you believe there are more customers out there for your firm, if you could just reach them?  Are you taking advantage of the no- and low-cost marketing tactics any firm can do? 
 
Maureen Ladley of Ladley & Associates (http://ladleyandassociates.com/) will guide you through key points any firm needs to know when marketing a small business in today’s economy.  We will then look at a real life case study of a very unique and successful business model that was launched just 3 years ago in the midst of the economic downturn right here in the Bay Area by a Berkeley MBA Student.  Kevin Casey of New Avenue Homes (http://www.newavenuehomes.com/) will tell us how he is not only surviving but thriving in today’s economy by offering a super green product that adapts to the needs of today’s consumer.

Cancellation Policy:  No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows due to our limited venue capacity. Registered attendees can transfer their credit to another colleague (i.e. go in their place) for the same Guild Meeting - not for another Guild Meeting.

Maureen Ladley
Maureen is a research and strategic marketing leader with over 20 years experience.  She is a lecturer on marketing sustainability at Boston Architectural College’s Sustainable Design Institute.  She has been a speaker at the Arizona Housing Forum, and a speaker and moderator at the Seniors Housing Symposium.  Maureen has a bachelor of arts in Economics from UCLA, and holds LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Green Building Professional designations.

In addition to building homes throughout high school and college and working in commercial real estate in New York, he founded and managed a global distribution business operating in 13 countries. Kevin also managed design and deployment of oracle business intelligence systems for Charles Schwab. He grew up in one of the original Sears factory homes built in 1908 and leads the planning and vision for New Avenue.
