Certified GreenPoint Rater Training
How can you tell if a home really is green?
Enter GreenPoint Rated. GreenPoint Rated removes the guesswork from evaluating a home's green features, allowing home buyers to compare newly built homes on a level playing field. And GreenPoint Rated rewards building professionals who create green homes by allowing them to brand their products with a recognizable, trustworthy seal of approval.
GreenPoint Rated features independent verification of the home's green building features and benefits, coupled with outstanding consumer education tied to the program brand and logo. At the heart of the program are Certified GreenPoint Raters--the people who evaluate each home to ensure it meets the program's standards for high performance.
Becoming a Certified GreenPoint Rater
Individuals seeking certification first attend a rigorous training course based on the GreenPoint Rated system. Participants learn about green building, the intent behind each green measure, detailed verification protocols, and the policies and interactive process for participating in the GreenPoint Rated program. Participants then take a written exam and field test. Graduates are eligible to market themselves as GreenPoint Raters and assist builders in earning the GreenPoint Rated designation for their projects.
Once certified you will be granted access to rater tools, templates, rating manuals, and program handbooks. We are now also proud to offer the GreenPoint Rater – Existing Home Training, which builds on the New Home training.
