Building Performance/Commissioning

Residential commissioning is a comprehensive evaluation of a home to ensure the effective performance of the building and its systems. Commissioning combines component and system testing with improvements in home performance, energy efficiency, and comfort. Commissioning methods can be used to diagnose home performance for both new and existing homes, either single-family or multifamily.

Training and validation of HVAC, insulation, and remodeling professionals in the use of scientific methods and equipment for holistically diagnosing and repairing a home's comfort and energy problems. Also certifies HERS raters.

The training is to certify people interested in performing HERS field verification and diagnostic testing for third party inspection of Title 24 energy features on new and existing homes.

The California Home Performance Program is a public interest program operated by the non-profit California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA) that trains residential retrofit contractors to diagnose and cure home comfort and energy systems holistically.
